A Little About Me...

Hi, I'm Jeremy Brown and I'm an Learning Experience & Instructional Designer located in Southeast Michigan. I have over five years of experience in the training industry, starting as a Media Design Specialist for producing sales training videos before becoming an instructional designer. When I'm not designing learning, I enjoy producing music, playing video games, and recording podcasts with a couple of friends.

My Core Belief 1: Purpose in Learning.

Before even becoming an instructional designer, I believed that the best way for people to learn is for them to clearly identify how the information they are receiving resonates with them, and how it connects to a deeper meaning or purpose. Even the most mundane of tasks, if put in the right light, can be perceived as the building blocks to where a person wants to get to in life.

Business needs matter. Financial needs matter. But being able to create learning that also caters to the need of the human, that matters most...

My Core Belief 2: Methods of Learning.

As a student myself, I know that each person has a unique way in which they learn and retain information. Creating something to fit every person's unique preference is clearly a misguided way to go about making that possible, but so is a "one size fits all" approach. Therefore, I strive to employ different design approaches and modalities when designing learning. My background in film/video further bolsters my understanding of using interactive and narrative elements to further drive retention and progression for students, all while keeping their learning experience top of mind.
